New touchpad driver enables multitouch on most laptops
This driver enables multitouch on the touchpad for most laptops that use a Synaptics touchpad. That's a lot of laptops. I tried it on my Dell Mini 1012 and sure enough, it worked.
I had to uninstall the Dell Touchpad driver, reboot, then install this one. Now two-finger scrolling and other gestures work.

My New Dell Mini 1012 Netbook
I've had this for less than one day so far but I'm totally digging it. It's small, light, and quiet (no fans). It does get a tad warm underneath, but nothing like my Dell Inspiron 1720 (my 17" monster laptop).
Here's a pic of the Mini sitting on top of the 1720.
The Mini 1012 is running Windows 7 Professional, has a 10.1 inch screen, an Intel Atom N450 1.66Ghz processor, 1GB RAM, and a 160GB hard drive. I'll be adding more RAM (maxes out at 2GB) and an internal bluetooth module so I can use a wireless mouse. Ordered the parts.
This thing will be perfect for meetings, taking notes, connecting to a projector to give Powerpoint presentations, email, and web surfing. Out of curiosity I am installing the Photoshop CS4 Trial just to see if it can even run. I am not too optimistic about that :-)

Jenny Craig: Year 2 - Week Eleven
So I was good at the hockey game (got a salad!) and ended up losing one pound this week. Not bad. My total so far is just over 38 pounds. Been here before but then the holidays derailed me. But now I'm back on track!

Jenny Craig: Year 2 - Week Ten
Only a 0.2 pound gain this week, and mostly because we ate out while my dad was visiting...and I was bad :-)
Hockey game this weekend...I'll try to be good!

Jenny Craig: Year 2 - Week Nine
Lost 1.6 this week, finally! Did some walking, ate my Jenny Craig. Since my February reboot I've lost a total of 4 pounds. Two more pounds to get back down to my November weight.
Unfortunately this weekend will be tough since my dad will be visiting (yay!) and we'll be eating out a lot (boo! but secretly yay!). I'll try to make better choices...it's all I can do :-)

Apple is scared of Android
Apple's dominance in the mobile marketplace is due to their industry changing iPhone products. New to the block is Google with their Android OS and multitude of manufacturing partners for their smartphones (Motorola, Acer, HTC, etc.)
Android has been growing by leaps and bounds in the past year, and this seems to have caught Apple's notice. Interestingly, rather than attack Google directly, Apple has decided to sue HTC, the top handset maker of Android phones, for infringing on 20 Apple patents. But make no mistake...this is a warning shot aimed directly at Google.
Oh, Apple. You're no longer just a cocky elitist...now you're a bully too. And one that employs children.
